The 60 Feet 6 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established by Major League Baseball pitcher Derek Holland in 2015. The foundation’s direction has been shaped by Holland’s on and off the field experiences, which have had a profound effect on his commitment to helping others.

GHS runner-up in Briggs Berry Memorial Golf Tournament

Granbury High School’s varsity boys golf team earned second place Monday, Oct. 3 in the final team standings of the Briggs Berry Memorial Golf Tournament at the Pecan Plantation Golf Course.

The Pirates team members are Bryson Sparks, William Lillagore, Drake Montoya, Corban White and Braeden Hunt. They are coached by Steve Ward.

The annual tournament is held in honor of former GHS golfer Briggs Berry, who passed away at age 18 in September 2014. Tournament scores and an article will be in the sports roundup to be published in the Wednesday, Oct. 12 edition of the Hood County News.
